“Because our Maker hasn’t called us to live a safe life. He’s called us to live a life of trust.”
I’ve been eagerly awaiting the conclusion to this dystopian series and I have to say, I thought it ended fabulous! Lisa T. Bergren knows how to get you involved in a story!
In the third and final volume of the Remnants series—Seasons of Glory—the power of the Remnants and their people are growing, threatening Pacifica’s careful plans for domination. Among the Trading Union, village after village, outpost after outpost, and city after city are drawn to people of the Way, and agree to stand against those who hunt them. But Pacifica intends to ferret out and annihilate the Remnants—as well as everyone who hasn’t sworn allegiance to the empire—setting the stage for an epic showdown that will change the course of a world on the brink … forever.
In this final book, there was all that readers have come to expect from this series. Battles of good vs. evil, friendships, community, love and fighting for causes greater than any one person. Bergren didn’t hold back and held true to what a war looks like; evil doesn’t play favorites. And with characters you’ve grown with in two books….it’s a wild ride. There were some emotions y’all!
It a lot of ways much of this story reminded me of the stories from the Old Testament. The battle is the Lord’s and He makes the impossible possible, but very well blended in a dystopian and supernatural style. I thought this story also brought about the reminder of our bigger Story; that we are not alone in the battles we face.
I love it when a book of fiction reminds me of bigger and more important truths! Have y’all read this series? Do you have a favorite from Lisa? (I also love her Rivers of Time Series)
