Welcome to another Walking Dead recap! As always, this post has spoilers from the episode, so if you haven’t seen it yet, feel free to read previous recaps first!
While this episode only had a handful of heart racing moments, we did get a good look into some of the characters and their recent actions. (I’m talking to you Carol). And once again I’m not sure where I stand on these issues.
Indifference kicks off with the focus on Carol. Oh Carol. I don’t even know you anymore. She has a chance to chat with Lizzie (who wants to come back as a zombie if she dies. Help this poor child. Please.) before the run and call me crazy, but I thought it was going to be inspirational and sweet.
While flipping back and forth between Rick picturing the murders and Carol talking with Lizzie, we hear things like “You can’t be afraid to kill” and then “And then one day you just…change.” I felt for the poor girl when she let “Mom” slip and Carol’s over there saying “call me mom one more time…”
This sums up who Carol has become. How shall I say this? Hardened. I get you need to survive, but at what cost? All hope is not lost. Do you not remember Frodo and Sam?
While on the car ride, Carol begins to explain herself and she comes to realize Rick doesn’t trust her anymore. Homegirl, you don’t even know. Awkward car rides are the best!
I promise I don’t plan on always posting Rick and/or Daryl, but these are just so funny and accurate!
We also see the tag team figure out how to find a car and then make it to the Vet school/hospital. Can’t they just grab a bunch of medicine and then sort later? I get you can’t take everything, but come on – I’m sure you’ll find a use for other such drugs.
Sidenote: Y’all who doesn’t love Michonne with lines such as these? “That’s a good color. It brings out your eyes.” Classic Michonne.
Raise your hand if Tyreese has gotten on your last nerve. Because why are you holding hands with a walker? Let go loser and man up! He goes back and forth between wanting to just die or fight on. Better choose quick. I can’t have you risking my favorites.
This episode also reminded me why I never get excited when new people are introduced. They’ll be dead soon anyway. Thank you for proving my point WD. Do you think she (you’re right, why learn their names?) chopped off her own leg? I’m just saying it was a pretty clean cut (read: not walker made). Also glad the guy got his shoulder fixed only to be killed later. Hope you enjoyed those 120 minutes buddy!
I’m glad Michonne told Ty “stupid gets you killed” and then decided to go through a dark hallway/room when leaving the vet school. That makes sense and also causes us all to soil our pants. Never a real episode of Walking Dead if that doesn’t happen at least once.
Bob and his demons. I wonder if he was always the last man standing because he was in some way responsible for everyone else dying. I wouldn’t be shocked if that was the case.
Other side note: In case the world needed more reason to love Daryl, he’s not only a counselor, he’s a mechanic and all around baller. All up in your face!
Then there was the whooper of the episode. The WHOOPER. The Rick and Carol showdown. No need to bring up Shane Carol. That was different and the horrid man as trying to kill Rick. But I digress.
This also brings me to the quote of the week by Mr. Grimes: “That wasn’t your decision to make.”
I mean, y’all. RICK KICKED CAROL OUT. This isn’t a black and white issue either (as my friends and I disagree if Carol was in the right) and then the show threw this at me. She cried for a bit and then got in the car like no big deal and drove away. I mean what??????? I get some of what Carol was thinking, but then I understand where Rick was coming from as well.
I think the prisoners have a right to know and I think Rick is right, Carol would be killed by Tyreese (Let’s be real Carol, you couldn’t handle Tyreese) and no longer trusted (Although Carl would probably side with Carol). I think part of the reason Rick did it was for Carol’s safety (I think he kept hoping she would be behind him and he was crying). But I have no idea how people are going handle this. Will he tell them she died? Will he be upfront with the truth? And what the heck is Daryl going to think????
Do you agree with Rick’s decision? Do you think she’s done for sure? Can we please talk about this? PLEASE. Join the discussion in the comments or on Facebook!
