Welcome to another Walking Dead recap! As always, this post has spoilers from the episode, so if you haven’t seen it yet, feel free to read previous recaps first!
The wait is over friends and now my Sunday night stress sessions start all over again!!
Negan’s lemmings really angered me and I hate that my people were stuck in this situation. DON’T MESS WITH DARYL people. They’re crazy and they’re jerks and I don’t like them at all. Playing games and trying to kill my friends? No sirs. No sirs.
But then what happens? Our Mr. Dixon shows why he’s the favorite of all television! Because SUCKAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU DARYL DIXON. Don’t they know? They don’t mess with him. Because when you do, he takes a rocket launcher and blows all y’all apart as you threaten his friends. One of the best scenes ever.
So while the procession is happening back in Alexandria, I could not breathe. Mainly because of Sam. But surprisingly nothing insane happened right then and they regrouped and discussed a new plan. Father G offered to take care of Judith during the new plan and I would tell you what I thought about that, but I feel it wouldn’t be appropriate. Sam also claimed he could keep going…right. We got a few more promises from Father G and the group split up. As he walked off with Judith, I was seriously holding my breathe.
Rosita, Tara, Eugene and knocked Carol and Morgan were stuck in the house, discussing their options. There weren’t many, but they first make sure Carol and Morgan are okay. After Morgan woke up, he realized psycho wolf took Denise. Those two manage to hide in a gated area. Glenn and Enid were able to get into a church and found some extra weapons and ammo. Enid had another moment of figuring out life and such and they talked about the people no longer with them, but made them who they are. All the Glenn shoutouts were a trip down memory lane (Hershel, Dale, Andrea). Then they came up with a plan to save Maggie.
Wolf psycho is insanely creepy (y’all, those teeth!) and spent time trying to convince Denise to go all kinds of crazy too.
Then it’s nightfall and the group kept walking through the town. Sam then decided to relive all what Carol scared him with and started to break away from the group. What happened next? I literally could not even. I just stared at the TV and once again forgot to breathe. We’ll go bullet point version:
- Sam didn’t recover and so got eaten
- Jessie was screaming (understandable) and didn’t let go of his hand, so then she got attacked.
- Everyone is freaking out, she didn’t let go of Carl and so Rick had to chop off her hand.
- Carl fell back and lost the gun
- Is that enough? Well, there’s more.
- Ron grabbed the gun and aimed it at Rick. LIKE IT WAS HIS FAULT HIS BROTHER RUINED EVERYTHING.
- Michonne stabbed Ron from behind and he shot off the gun while dying.
- Does it hit a walker? Of course not. IT HIT CARL’S EYE.
Back to the other group. Eugene noted that sooner or later they’re going to have to fight their way out. Rosita tells him that he’s not because he can’t.
The wolf forced Denise to get out and they made a go for it to the ladder. The wolf got bitten on the arm and Denise said if he took her to the infirmary, she’d save his life. I knew that wasn’t going to work out well.
As Carol is upstairs looking outside, Morgan walked up. He asked about Carol’s child. That’s one way to make amends. Carol called him out, saying he saved that guy for him, not for them. She also says she should have killed Morgan. He ends with “you can’t” and then walked away.
Wolf man actually seemed to be changing, but as they were running to the hospital, Carol shoots him dead. But he did die taking some walkers down, so there’s that. Not sure if it was genuine or not, but it worked! Thankfully Denise made it and Michonne, Rick and Carl made it there too. Poor Carl.
And then what did Rick do??? He decided with one little ax, he was going to go outside and take out all the walkers. What was he thinking?!!! I mean, I get he’s drawing them away from Carl, but bruh…the stress. Good news though, Michonne and Alexandria folks go out to back him up. Other Alexandrians come out of their houses and help too. Way to go people. We see Judith safe in the church. Then say what? Father G goes outside to help. He talks about the courage God has given him. That’s one more step towards restoring my faith in you Father G.
Then Carol and crew go out as well. Hey!! All the awesome fighting.
“No one gets to clock out today and hell, this is a story people are going to tell.” Best quote ever from Eugene as he joins the fight.
It’s was legit awesome to see everyone fighting. Go team go!
Glenn gets himself cornered and I feared reliving all I did a few episodes ago, this time with Maggie watching. But don’t worry our folks Sasha and Abraham showed up just in time with machine guns.
We were all able breathe again.
Genius move of Daryl’s part. Of course. Fire lake brings all the zombies to the yard!
Y’all, the final minutes of this episode? LEGIT. They are a group of baddies now! If they can survive an attack that big, they can survive almost anything. I’m so happy everyone was reunited and Rick realized these folks aren’t so bad. Awww, and then Carl squeezes his hand to show he’s alive!
But now that he has hope, I can only imagine what’s coming next. You know, this show likes to ruin HOPES AND DREAMS.
