Outside of fiction, some of the books I love to grab and add to my library are resources for bible study. Some I come back to years later and I love having those available. I’ve been studying women of the bible more deeply and this looked like just the resource to add!
31 Women of the Bible features 31 profiles of important women in the Bible. Each profile includes the related scripture reference, character summary, and application questions to help the reader discover who these women were and what we can learn from them today. Featuring a full-color interior with illustrations on every page and a unique concise format, this book can be used for daily study or carried in a purse or backpack for reading on the go.

I’ll start off with a favorite quote in the intro:
“For all its emphasis on religious places and holy ideas, the Bible, in the final analysis, is about characters. It begins with a character – the triune God. It then proceeds to tell one great story made up of countless smaller stories. At the heart of all this action, on every page of Scripture, we meet fascinating, real-life people. These are characters worth our time.”
This is a great starting place for those interested in studying women of the bible. There’s the ones everyone knows, but it also touches on lesser known women of the bible (which makes it pretty much perfect for my series over at She Laughs). It’s a fabulous resource and helped me with some research starts.
I have to admit, I wasn’t a huge fan of the layout and some of the pictures for each chapter, but I enjoyed the content and you might see some of it quoted in future posts :).
What’s one of your favorite study resources?
