Blog, Inc. | Joy Cho

December 16, 2018 by Jamie 4 Comments

I came across this little gem, Blog, Inc.: Blogging for Passion, Profit, and to Create Community, after going to a really fun and awesome Book Tour. I’m a fan of Joy and was so glad I got to meet her and hear her thoughts in person.

If you have yet to start a blog or have been blogging for awhile, read this book. First, there are tons of resources. Tons. Whether the basics of where to host a blog to advertising to etiquette, there’s something you can use and will want to implement after you finish reading. I know I did, and more than once.

I also really enjoyed the interviews throughout the book. Not only did they provide insight about blogging, but gave me a blog to check out and get ideas from. Even though each one was different topics and way different from my blog, it’s helpful to get inspiration from those.

Plus Joy is a great writer and the book flows so easily. With the advice and wisdom of a well known blogger, the book is encouraging and as I mentioned, so helpful, so be sure to grab a copy! Although I just found out that since it’s so popular, it’s currently on back order.

I’m a huge fan of Joy and her blog, but I’d only recommend this book to beginning bloggers. I bought it hoping to learn some new tricks and was disappointed. 🙁 I already follow most, if not all, the people she interviewed, too. Heh. Have you read “Platform” by Michael Hyatt? I’m just starting it, but I enjoy his blog and podcasts.

I follow Michael Hyatt’s blog, but haven’t read any of his books yet. His name always pops up in recommendations, so I probably should!

I think I only knew about Joy before reading this book, so all these new blogs were like the jackpot! 🙂 but yes, I agree, this is definitely really helpful for beginners!

I’ve been blogging for a while now but currently I am trying to better establish my voice and grow my readership. I will definitely check out this book. Thanks for sharing!
