I really enjoyed the Percy Jackson series, I can only imagine how much that series helped spur interest in Greek mythology and I’m sure teachers are saying thank you to Rick Riordan everywhere. So when I heard he started a new series (Heroes of Olympus) with some of the characters from the first series, I knew I would like it. I think one of the reasons I enjoy books like this (it’s for ages 10 and up, which makes me feel awesome) is they’re quick and entertaining reads. There’s romance, fighting, good vs. evil…all the life themes people never tire of.
The first book, The Lost Hero, and second, The Son of Neptune, will soon be followed up by the Mark of Athena later this fall. According to the wondering Wiki, there will be four books total and I’m definitely looking forward to the rest!
