Y’all. I refuse to admit how long it has been since the last 4 Questions interview I’ve had. I don’t even know how I went this long without an interview!! I’m sorry internet, because these are some of my favorite posts! Good news is today breaks the silence with Kristen Heitzmann! I hope you enjoy Kristen’s 4 Questions, but also a few bonus questions about her latest release, Told You Twice!
Kristen Heitzmann is the bestselling author of two historical series as well as ten contemporary romantic and psychological suspense novels, including The Still of Night, nominated for the Colorado Book Award; The Tender Vine, a Christy Award finalist; and the Christy Award-winning Secrets.
She lives in the Colorado Rocky Mountain foothills with her husband Jim and sundry family members and pets.
1. What is something about your life right now that you would have never imagined 5 years ago?
Being without my mom to share everyday life and especially my stories.
2. What is one thing that you would go back and do differently if you could?
Practice more humility.
3. What is one of the happiest moments of your life?
Being present for the birth of both grandchildren.
4. What is one thing you want the next generation to know?
Freedom, truth, and goodness matter. Nothing is dispensable that diminishes these.
And now some details about her latest release!
1. What inspired you to write Indie books?
I played by the rules long enough to crave creative freedom. That part of the shift is marvelous. I’m an epic fail on the marketing etc. but I hope people like my work enough to pass the word.
2. Did you plan on writing Bo’s and Exi’s story from the beginning or did inspiration come after writing Told You So?
No, I thought Told You So would be a comedic lark I got out of my system and I’d go back to edgier suspense. Then Bo whispered in my ear that he had things to say, and since the first book had gone deep and dark, I let him take Told You Twice deeper and darker so the true to life redemption would shine without trumpets or fanfare, but a deep resounding sigh.
3. What’s your biggest hope with writing these for the readers?
My hope for this series to appeal to non-Christian-fiction readers. I want to create a reality that speaks across the board with as much truth in the struggle as in the faith.
Thank you so much Kristen for joining in! I hope you enjoyed the interview as well friends!
