Four years ago, my best friend gave me the Q&A a Day: 5-Year Journal and I love it. I’m still going strong and it’s so fun (also sometimes hilarious) to read old thoughts to serious and silly questions. A lot happens in a year!
All that to say when I saw this option I jumped at the chance and if you like anything artsy, then this might be for you.
Q&A a Day for Creatives is your go-to source for inspiration, whimsy, and idea generation. Each page of this four-year journal features a compelling question designed to get you thinking drawing, and dreaming. Open the journal to today’s date and fill in the appropriate space as you see fit. (Pencil doodles? Watercolor? Musical scales?) As the journal fills year after year, you’ll own a showcase of your ever-growing creative output.
Here’s the thing y’all also need to know – when it comes to actual talent of drawing, I’m honest enough with myself to admit I don’t have much talent. I can doodle and color like nobodies’ business, but my doodles will never hang on the walls of a museum. But I’m totally okay with that – I still love the process and the fun that comes with attempting. It’s therapeutic y’all. This book is perfect for that (and if you have skills, please post that so I can be inspired by your talent!)
And in case you’re wondering what types of creative things you’ll get to do, here’s a few from the book:
- Draw what you think you’ll be wearing five months from now
- Draw one thing you’d like to accomplish this year
- Pick a pattern in nature to draw
- Express your mood right now in a stick figure
- What was something you drew a lot as a child? Draw it now.
What’s your creative outlet? I’d like to take a moment to also give a shout out to the first person who came up with adult coloring books. You win.
(Thank you to Blogging for Books for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review)
