There’s many reasons I love my book club. I could write a whole post about them, but I’ll stick with this reason today – we always pick books that are far different than what I normally read. I love it! One such suggestion was Before I Go To Sleep by S.J. Watson, a book that keeps you guessing and is a page turner from beginning to end!
As I sleep, my mind will erase everything I did today. I will wake up tomorrow as I did this morning. Thinking I’m still a child. Thinking I have a whole lifetime of choice ahead of me…’
Memories define us. So what if you lost yours every time you went to sleep? Your name, your identity, your past, even the people you love — all forgotten overnight. And the one person you trust may only be telling you half the story.
Welcome to Christine’s life.
It was one of those read in one setting type books. I had about 87 theories as to what was happening or why and can’t say any of them were right, but I love that when I’m reading! Watson hooks you with an intriguing premise, curious characters and circumstances you’re trying to figure out right along with narrator.
I loved the mystery and I didn’t see the ending coming. Maybe it’s because I don’t read a ton of thrillers or watch those type movies. I also read a few reviews where people discussed the science behind what she had and complained about that. Here’s the thing, true or not, I didn’t read this book to study amnesia. I grabbed it to be entertained. And you know what? I was! Either way, I enjoyed the ride and it’s now on the big screen, so looking forward to seeing it!
Have y’all read this book? How about some books turned movie that you are looking forward to – I’d love to hear about them!
