Happy Monday friends! I’m currently in Boston right now, so I thought today was the perfect day to post this fun A-Z of Bookish Questions! I saw this over at my friend Kara’s blog and I love chatting current reads and other bookish mischief, so here we go!
Author you’ve read the most books from: I think it would be Lynn Austin or J.K. Rowling (Harry Potter people. Harry Potter.)
Best sequel ever: An Echo in the Darkness by Francine Rivers, following A Voice in the Wind from the Mark of the Lion series. If you’ve read it, you know exactly what I mean.
Currently reading: In Perfect Time by Sarah Sundin
Drink of choice while reading: Funny enough I just blogged about this here :). I have yet to actually read and drink most of my suggestions, but I usually stick with water or tea.
E-reader or physical book: Another fun discussion on the blog a few months ago! I love my Kindle for ease and a chance to download free books, but I still have plenty of books in my house too.
Fictional character you probably would have dated in high school: I don’t remember too many fellas from books I read in high school that were my age except Holden Caulfield and he was a punk, but there’s plenty of other options in the book world!
Glad you gave this book a chance: The Butterfly and the Violin by Kristy Cambron. Not that I didn’t think it would be good, I just wanted an excuse to bring it up again because it was kind of AMAZING.
Irritated by: LOVE TRIANGLES. Everything else could be amazing about the book, but if there’s that, then it automatically drops for me.
Just finished: The King Rules by Alveda King
Kind of books you won’t read: Erotica. Even typing that is awkward.
Longest book you’ve read: Since The Lord of the Rings is technically one book, that would win. I’m also working through Stephen King’s 11/23/63, so that will be one of the longest when I finally finish.
Major book hangover because of: Tamera Alexander’s two post-Civil War series. Y’all. So wonderful.
Number of bookcases you own: I have 4, but I need more because the floor isn’t quite working for me.
One book you read multiple times: Fire by Night by Lynn Austin
Preferred place to read: My couch is kind of nice 😉
Quote you like from a book you read: You know me and my book quotes. It’s a fun series to post. But for this, I gotta go with my boy Samwise Gamgee: “There’s some good in this world and it’s worth fighting for.”
Reading regret: That I don’t have enough time for all my TBR reads. I’m sorry sweet books, but I can’t guarantee I’ll ever get to you.
Series you started and need to finish: Divergent. I enjoyed it, but I think I came in with too much hype. Folks said it was better than The Hunger Games, but based on book one, not so much. I have the other two on my kindle and I can only promise to read them before the next movie comes out ;).
Three of your all time favorite books: I have my list of top 8 for fiction here, so I’ll toss in three other ones. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, The Client by John Grisham and Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand.
Unapologetic fangirl for: The Inklings. Obviously.
Very excited for this release more than all the others: Lizzie and Jane by Katherine Reay. I CAN’T WAIT!
Worst bookish habit: Starting a book at 10:00 at night. I know I’ll end up staying up all night, yet that never stops me.
X marks the spot: I’ll always buy bookmarks because I’m too lazy to find the ones at home, so I have a bunch of bookmarks here and there. That just means I get to switch things up though right? 🙂
Your latest book purchase: The Drew Fathering Series. I had the first two on my kindle, but that just wouldn’t do, so now I have the hard copies of all three!
Zzzz snatcher book: Anything written by Jody Hedlund.
What are some of your answers? If you have done this post, be sure to share your link in the comments – I’d love to read them 🙂
