Shakespeare and Amish fiction? Together? Don’t mind if I do!
I’ve always enjoyed Shakespeare. Even though it takes an expert or Cliff notes for me to actually understand (would not have survived my college Shakespeare class without the latter) what the story is about, when I do I can’t help but love his stories (Macbeth and Midsummer Night’s Dream are my favorites).
And since Sisters of the Quilt, I’ve grown to really enjoy Amish fiction as well.
And Courting Cate was the perfect tie between the two! This was my first encounter with Leslie Gould and I have to say she is quite the storyteller. It was funny, engaging and just a great read. And Cate… a fire cracker! And Pete… the perfect guy to tame her :). I enjoyed the development of each character as well; where they started, how they embraced changed and overcome the past to come out as a better person. I see why she’s a bestseller author! Now I want to check out her other books with a Shakespearean twist and then watch 10 Things I Hate About You.
And no more ands. My journalism professor is probably crying right now.
